Environmental Policy

Recognizing that passing our "irreplaceable global environment" to the next generations in a healthy condition is our fundamental responsibility as human beings, Toshiba Mobile Display Co., Ltd., under the "Environmental Vision of the Toshiba Group", creates abundant values and plans to live in harmony with the planet as a "device manufacturer using low-temperature poly-silicon (LTPS) technology" serving our customers products of high eco-efficiency considering low power consumption, lightweight and resource-saving. We will contribute to sustainable society by environmental activities aiming at "Low Carbon Society, "Sound Material-Cycle Society", and "Nature-harmonious Society".

Promoting Environmental Management

1. TMD considers environmental stewardship to be one of management’s primary responsibilities and promotes environmental activities in harmony with economic activities.
2. TMD assesses the impacts of its business activities, products and services on the environment, including with regard to biodiversity, and specifies objectives and targets with respect to the reduction of environmental impacts and prevention of pollution.
3. TMD strives to continuously improve environmental management through internal audits and reviews of activities.
4. TMD complies with all laws and regulations, industry guidelines it has endorsed, our customers' requirements, and its own standards concerning the environment, and strives to improve our Environmental Management.
5. TMD strives to enhance the awareness of all its employees with respect to the environment and requires that they make a practical contribution to the environment through their work.
6. TMD operates globally, and accordingly, promotes environmental activities throughout Toshiba Group.

Providing Environmentally Conscious Products and Services and Reducing Their Environmental Impact through Business Activities

1. TMD recognizes that natural resources are finite and implements vigorous environmental measures to promote their effective and practical use in terms of both products and business processes.
2. TMD promotes Green Procurement to improve the quality of the environment, and provides environmentally conscious products and services which contribute to the reduction of environmental impacts throughout their life cycles.
3. TMD strives to reduce the environmental impacts of all business processes, encompassing design, manufacturing, logistics, sale, and disposal, with a particular focus on the prevention of global warming, efficient utilization of resources and control of chemical substances.
