Local Community Relations
As a good member of society and a good corporate citizen as well as a community-based organization, Toshiba Matsushita Display Technology Group participates in social contributions strongly tied to the local community. To pursue harmony with society, we are working for harmonization with the local community through promoting mutual understanding with society and participating in social contributions.
Each site location is taking the initiative to participate in the community and activities ranging from education, culture, and volunteering to environmental protection. Our participation is at both the individual and organization levels, such as cleaning around the factory and sponsoring local events that assist in community development.
Participation in Local Events
Our Ishikawa factory has been participating in the Kawakita Festival, an annual community event in the area. We volunteer and provide our parking lot as an event location. In 2005, 45 volunteers joined the event as operations staff and opened a refreshment stand while distributing original paper fans. Event goers liked our refreshments and the fans.

Cleaning Activity
Our Fukaya factory conducted a cleaning event on the Fukaya Promenade around JR Fukaya Station. The promenade is a place for recreation and relaxation for the community. The Himeji factory also participated in cleaning around the factory site. The event was co-sponsored by the Toshiba Group Association (Workers Union, Himeji Branch) with employee participation.
