Toshiba Mobile Display Co., Ltd. (TMD) is a strong contributor to the growth of small- to medium-sized liquid crystal display markets through the development and application of advanced technologies. This section introduces TMD's proprietary advanced and unique technologies.
"Purezza": a brand of TMD's advanced technologies
"Purezza" is a brand that designates our proprietary advanced technologies. "Purezza" means "pure or clear" in Italian, and is also a musical terminology. The term has been selected to imply not only the "pure and clear" beauty of images displayed but also our sincere mind and attitude towards a wide variety of stakeholders including the end-customers of our set manufacturers. TMD strives to have customers using end-products containing our liquid crystal display panels to experience a high level of visual beauty, advanced features and intimacy through the pure and clear images that they display as they are similarly impressed with beautiful music. In addition, a sense of rapid motion given by the term "Purezza" represents the fast response time of a display, one of the critical factors for moving picture performance, and also TMD's high degree of engineering expertise, marketing power and capability of responding to customer needs for realization of faster response time. The sense of speed is also expressed by the “Purezza” logotype.
