Appointment of New President

Toshiba Matsushita Display Technology Co., Ltd. (TMD) has decided to appoint Yoshio Ooida, the current Executive Officer and a Corporate Vice President of TOSHIBA Corporation, as the President and Chief Executive Officer effective April 1, 2008.

This decision has determined that Mr. Ooida will be a candidate to be appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer at the general shareholders’ meeting to be held in late March 2008 and the following board of directors meeting.

Mr. Katsuji Fujita, the current President and Chief Executive Officer of TMD, is expected to be appointed as advisor of TOSHIBA Corporation effective April 1, 2008.
